how to reset check engine light
I own a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu. I posted a message a few days ago about a problem my car was having. The check engine light was on. I took it to Auto Zone, and they hooked it up to their scanner. It came back at P0440, which is an evap code. They suggested changing the gas cap. I located a dealer in Atlanta through acdelco.com, and he sold me a gas cap, and told me how to reset the code. He said to turn off the car, unplug the positive lead to the battery for about a minute, and plug it back up. I did all he said, drove down the road a few miles, and the light went right off. It hasn't been back on. I hope this info helps someone in need.
