I have an 06 Malibu, 51,000 miles. Within the last week or so, I have noticed a humming sound. It is a steady humming noise, kind of high pitched. Seems to be coming from the front of the car, possibly on the driver's side. I notice the sound when I am going 30mph or faster & it gets louder the faster I go. The sound stops when I am stopped & slows down when I slow down. Still makes the noise when I in nuetral too. Tires were rotated back in June, but I do need new tires before winter. Anyone have any idea what this could be??!

Your issue sounds similar to a problem I had with my old Civic... It turned out to be a wheel bearing issue. What compounded the problem was at the time, my tires weren't balanced, so there was a vibrating issue too! Does your steering wheel/seat vibrate when you're going over 30mph?

it could still be a wheel bearing, it wont necessarily shake or vibrate, your tire caused that....they dont normally hum, they usually start out with a squeek, and when they are bad will e a constant squeel, and grinding. still could be, like ujoints, they do weird things when they go.
