I have a 1967 SS396 12 bolt positrac 3.73 geared rear end, in excellent condition. It is missing the brake components only. It appears to have been in a low mileage or Grandma driven car, as it shows no wear and tear. I planned to put it in my 64 Buick Special, but it is too wide and perches out of whack for my application, much to my dismay..Apparently with the Chevelle rear axle housing."1967 is an orphan, 68 and newer can be used but don't fit right (wider) the 66 and earlier are the correct width but the spring plates are different." pertaining to just Chevelles, so... If you are restoring a 1967 Chevelle this is the best and only original option.
