Default 1995 Lumina, NEED HELP!

Hello i am new to these forums.

Bought a 1995 Lumina back when it first came out and the dealership had ATS security systems installed on their cars. Basically its tied to the ignition system and has a little slot underneath the steerwheel and a chip is put in there.

Foward 10 years, car gets stolen and the dummys accidentally knocked off the chip and so the car wouldnt start. We find the car and find the chip on the ground and put it in the house while the car sat. Well with our luck the house burnt down and the chip is gone.

So now the Lumina wont start because the chip is gone and the ignition has locked up because of it. The car does turn on the radio with play so will all the lights but the car will not turn over at all.

We called a bunch of dealerships and most of them have no idea what were talking about and its hard to figure something out because the car is not moveable only by towing it.

So we basically want the piece of crap removed but dont know how, we know theres a lot of grounds. Does anyone have any idea?

Please and thanks

Providing a quick step-by-step to removing this alarm system may be nearly impossible, as the system was installed by the dealer, and certain wiring connections could be made an infinite number of ways depending on the individual technician doing the installing.

Your best bet would be to locate an automotive electronics expert locally and have them go through it. You may find a reputable car stereo and alarm installer, although these shops aren't always the most skilled (most best buys and such simply hire high school kids and the like). Your best bet would likely be a local independent shop that specializes in electronic systems.

If you're in the Dallas area, we would be happy to look at it.
