Default 95 monte idel bad then stall

My girlfriend has a 95 monte carlo ls i believe....with the 3.1 in it.....This happened and started out of no where. It was really hot and we had the a/c on we came to a stop light and it started to run extremely bad like it was missing then it stalled and stopped running. Ive replaced the plugs which havent been replaced since 99. The plugs were bad they had a .75-.85 gap in them and i know there only supposed .60. I also replaced the wires they were lookin bad too. Now that a slight tune up has been done its still doin it but just a little less worse. Now my question is what might this be....ive heard quite a few things from the torque converter to the crank position sensor, coils etc etc. Im workin 11hr days 6 days a week so its hard for me to sit around and tinker with the car. You guys have any ideas as to what might be causing this. Im gonna try and test the coils here soon to check the resistance.....also would a ignition moduel acting up do this or do those just go out?

Idle air control valve? EGR Valve? Any check engine lights? How long has it been since a fuel filter change?
