Default 2001 chevy s10 4.3 l catastrophic failure. Help!

I was driving and slowing down from 45mph to 35mph and the truck just quit and died, no warning of any kind. The engine turns but won't fire. The code reader only reads a p0410 secondary air injection system problem. I am pretty sure thats not the problem. The fuel pump engages, the electrical system is working, checked a spark plug wire and it is firing. Any suggestions?

Do a fuel pressure check to make sure the fuel pump is working. You can't rely on hearing it. You can also spray some starter fluid into the intake to see if the engine runs for a second or two. That will tell if it has a fuel delivery problem.

I did that today, only 8-9 psi on gauge, no firing with starter fluid. When the truck just stopped the battery light came on, any info on that

When the alternator stops charging because the engine stopped and the key is on, it is normal for the light to come on. 8-9 psi is not enough pressure to run the engine. It should have fired with the starter fluid. Try it again. You may also have another problem. You will need to change the pump.
