Need info on 07 Avalanche engine before purchase
Hi Guys,
I am looking at buying used suv or sut. I drove a Chevy Avalanche but it already has 64000 miles on it. Is there a mechanic or someone knowledgable about the 07 engine life? Is it 150000, 25000 life miles. What is the average? I'm nervous with the mileage but it is the top model and they are selling it for $19995.00.
Does anyone know of any major problems with the model or engine?
Any info would be greatly apprecated.
Jules

Jules,
It probably has the 5.3 litre V-8 and if properly maintianed you can easily expect 200,000 out of it. The mileage seams about average at 64,000
I have an 06 Silverado with the same motor and 106,000 on it, still runs perfect.

Thank you for the info. I have driven every used Avalanche in my state that was in my price range. I decided today to call it quits for a couple months. On the way home I saw a Chevy dealer on the same side of the road. I swung into the dealer and they had 1 used 2007 LS model. The best part...it only had 24,000 miles on it. They wanted 29,000.00 but I got it for 22,000 plus my old car which wasn't worth much. I thought she was as long as my expedition but found out she is a little bigger. 4 inches to spare in the garage....LOL.
Thank you for your reply. It was very helpful.
