Default Saying Hello

Hey all, i guess this is the place to introduce myself.
Im currently a student at Montana State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
I just bought a 97 tahoe, all stock, with the exception of the wheels.
future plans:
2 inch lift, ECU upgrade (probably just a tuner), full exhuast dual all the way, air intake, TB spacer, Audio.

other Ride:
1987 Toyota Pickup,
22rte sr5 xtra cab, upgraded turbo CT26 Twin scroll (super quick spool up), 4 inch Pro Comp lift, adjustable shocks MX6, 2.5 downpipe, 3 inch exhaust, custom air intake

joined to get some ideas for my tahoe.

You have come to the right place my friend, I have a 95 and 97 2 door Tahoe and I can give you plenty of hard earned advice on the subject.

Taller front coils? Don't you have front torsion bar suspension?

oh ya, i meant Keys. i was on Rough country's site but i don't really need lower c-arms and the drop bracket set-up. and wouldn't add-a-leafs stiffen the rear suspension?

If you are only looking for an inch or 2, save your money and just buy the keys, then go to your auto parts store of choice and buy some 2" blocks and u bolts for the rear.
The add a leaf does make it a little stiffer but no where near as stiff as the front end gets when you jack up the keys on the torsion bars. If your thinking of a 3" lift, I think you would be better off with the 6" IMO

That's the idea behind the keys but I never tried them myself.
The main reason I don't like the 3" kits for that year is because the same amount of work is required to install the 6", your truck and choice.

You should post a new thread for more input and to get out of the welcome area.
