Hello, My name is Lucas and I drive a 1999 Chevy Silverado LS 1500. It has 186000 miles on it.
My transmission is on the frits.
Where to begin? When I first start it, no matter if its been sitting a week, a day, a hour or a few moments, if I do not let it run for about 5-10 minutes before shifting into Drive, 1st gear has no power, I could slam it to the floor or ease it down, no matter what, its stays around 1800 RPM and does a steady 5-10 mph. Sometimes the tranny will "knock" 2-5 times, sometimes it just slowly "wakes up" and comes out of it. There has been a couple incidents where I could smell my tranny burning up.
Does not matter if its 10 degrees outside or 80, does it every time.
I have done a Transmission Fluid change and put a new filter on it. There was NO shavings of metal or anything in the old fluid. ****, didn't even look like old fluid. Could it be loose bands? 1st gear ****ting out? Help?
