â??Last we heard, General Motors had pushed back the release date for the next-gen Chevrolet Cruze (and its related rebadged variants around the globe) until the end of 2015, but it looks like development of the compact sedan is coming along well all the same. In these latest spy photos, we get our first look inside the new Cruze, as well as some more shots of the exterior.

From what we can tell of the interior, Chevy is continuing the precedent it set with recent designs in the 2014 Chevy Impala, updated Malibu and Corvette Stingray. While the slimmer two-pod gauge cluster and three-spoke steering wheel gives this car a more stylish appearance than the current model, our eyes are instantly drawn to the center stack of this car. For starters, the navigation display appears to be larger and closer to the occupants, and the number of buttons has also been reduced below the touchscreen display - by our count, the number of buttons has dropped from 40 (on the current Cruze with navigation) down to just 23. We also notice a couple of extra buttons on the left side of the steering wheel for the cruise control, so it will be interesting to see what these are for (possible lane departure warning or adaptive cruise control?).

On the outside, the Cruze is still heavily camouflaged, so aside from its sloped nose, cab-forward windshield and the short decklid, we can't really tell much about the sedan's appearance yet.2015 Chevy Cruze interior spotted in the wild originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 09 Oct 2013 19:00:00 EST.
