I'm wanting to buy a 1969 Nova, with a 396 and th400 in it. As far as I know, everything is as stock as can be on a restored car. How expensive/time consuming will it be to turn it into a 12.8-13.4 second car? The car is in pretty good shape. I figure some sticky road tires will make a huge difference, so that would be my first move, but from there I'm lost. Also, how much of an improvement would a 454 be, over the 396, assuming the 454 is putting out 390 horsepower, at a minimum?
