hey guys im rebuilding a 1979 gen 1 350 and have a few questions.
1- when i got the motor the harmonic balancer didn't have a bolt on it but the crank has threads, when i tried putting in a new bolt, 7/16 fine thread, the bolt is to big. Any ideas of the thread size.
2- this motor is going into a 1994 s10 blazer with a 700r4 trans. are there any complications i might run into, i know i have to change oil pans, any idea where i can get one for under 250 dollars?

7/16-20 2.25 in length without the head of the bolt. if it doesn't thread in, perhaps that is why there wasn't one there. make sure it is a grade 8 or above bolt. use anti- sieze lube and try to run it in. then run the bolt back out and see how the threads look. I am always afraid to break a tap off inside a crank.
