the title says it all, i just want to know if i could convert my 305 into a V6... using a 4.3 from a blazer/jimmy or astro (i think)

 

If you are doing this in hopes of saving gas. You may do the oposet, because the 4.3L would have to try harder to haul around such a heavy van. also the 4.3L doesn't get much better mpg than the 5.0L even though it's in a lighter blazer/astro.

Think of it this way if you add 500lbs to the back of a blazer and see how good the gas mileage is then.

I run a 94' G20 with the 4.3 vortec, I have a 130000 miles on it. Runs fantastic. It's not a speed demon off the line. It will go 100+ MPH if you need it to. I have the 4 speed od and I get about 17 in city and 23 hi-way. and mine is a conversion van so it is heavy.
