Not Enough Fuel
I have a 1993 31' motorhome 454 4L80E. It came with a TBI and runs great. But when I toe my jeep the trans gets to 240 or higher. So I put a large cooler in front of the radiator. And I built a shroud to funeral the air in, it dose ok. And I want to put a intake manifold and edlebrock Quadrajet on it. My question is the 4L80E trans uses the computer also. Can I keep it to regulate the trans or do I have to use a stand alone computer for the trans. Thanks funnnyfarm
Not to sure about how using that Quad is going to interface with the system, but, have another question...
Did you run your Tranny lines to that new Cooler first, then back through the Radiator Capsule, or vice versa ?
Given that they recommend operating temps for the Fluid to be between 175°-200°... is it making it there ?

Just a suggestion...
If you were to run the discharge line from the External Cooler back through the Radiator Capsule, you could keep the temperature down under 200°, and considerably reduce the warm up time, specially in cooler months.
During cooler months, many just pull the fuse on the Cooler Fan, and put a bag over the Cooler. A quick warm up, and keeping the Fluid in the correct operating range, considerably extends the life of the Fluid and Transmission.
