98 S-10 blazer radio stopped playing sound, battery died
About a month ago, the sound just stopped coming out of the radio, since the truck is nickel and diming me to death, I figured oh well. Yesterday I went to start the car and the battery was dead. I got a jump and went to get it tested. The battery is still good, the starter and connectors are good, but I have no idea why the battery just died. Could the radio issue be related? Please help, this truck is gonna put me in the poorhouse forever. Thank you.

Try disconnecting the power to the radio and see if the battery continues to go dead. There may be a short in the radio which stops it from working and discharging the battery at the same time.

I attempted to do this by pulling the fuse using the number listed in the owner's manual, well that caused my instrument panel to stop working, fuel guage, spedometer, etc. I put the fuse back in and they worked again (thank
god) the radio does not, and idea on this, does this mean that all my wiring is screwed up if the radio battery fuse also shuts off all the other items-the manual stated that was suppose to be a different fuse. Help!
