He's wanting to know how to tell if his motor is ruined. It try's to start that's it,does the motor need replaced?

Well, if it froze up, it probably blew a freeze plug. If it overtemp to 205, I doubt it did any damage. You need to look at fuel pressure, then spark. Systematically check these things to find out what you don't have which is causing it to not run.

does the engine turn over when attempting to start?

LoneWolf98 December 16th, 2012 11:17 AM

Where do you look to check freeze plugs?

kevinkpk December 16th, 2012 2:16 PM

Freeze plugs are also known as soft plugs. Most engines have cast iron blocks, and heads. If the coolent isn't rated at a lower freeze point than the temp, it will freeze. To protect the block, and heads in the water gallies at certain points (usually in an impossible place to get at) there are these plugs that will pop out as the coolent/eater expands to protect the engine. Thats not what is causing your issue.
