I own a 1999 s-10 ls. I have recently noticed that the brake lights will stay on even when i turn off the ignition. This only applies to the 2 main tail lights. The 3rd light above the cab works fine though. turn signals and reverse lights also are fine. As soon as i touch the brake pedal, the brake lights come on then stay on. I have to remove the fuse to get them to shut off. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it an expensive fix?

thanks.

I had this same problem with my 2001ext cab/3 door just recently.Ichanged out the emg/signal flasher which by the way is locatedbehind the glovebox and under other dash parts, what a pain, i tried everything. I had to take my pos batt post off just to make sure my batt would'nt run down overnight. Well i gave up and tookit to the dealership. What the problem wasis aRelay thats for the cargo light!!! I know my cargo light still worked fine before i took it in but i did notice that i had 1 of two little bulbs thats inside the cargo fixture was burned out after i got it home and thought about the whole ordeal, you might check the bulbs if its not late for the relay. I hope this can hlep you!
