Default ecm problems

I have a issue with a bad ecm. Service number is 16184738. Do I have to use the same service number? I am having a hard time finding one. 1995 chevy s10 4.3 standard transmission

I'm not 100% on this but I believe if you install a new ecm it needs to be flashed and programmed to your vehicle. I apologize if I'm wrong but I think that is the case. Good luck.

if the vehicle doesn't have theft deterrent, its should be plug and play.
there may be a list of upgraded parts numbers so more than one number may work.
What are you looking; for new, used?
