First Chevy. S10 2.2 Question. Missing?
Yeah, I'm a Ford guy through and through. I bought this truck to beat around in so I wouldn't put the miles on my Cobra and to keep it out of the elements. I paid $800 for it and it seems to be a decent truck. Its a 96 2.2L with the 5 speed. Only things it is doing wrong is missing. It misses pretty good at times. Any idea what this may be? I'm not wanting to sink $$ into this truck, just want to get it runnign right. Any help would be much appreciated!!

first thing i would try if you want to keep it on the cheap side would be to change the plugs wires cap and rotor that should be a big step in the right direction anyway hope this helps.

Another inexpensive investment would be to replace the fuel filter and the air filter while you're at it. I've had wierd problems in the past with catalytic converters going bad, as well. Any of the items on this thread so far could cause performance issues. Aside from the converter, they're all cheap and quick to fix. Most of them are probably needed anyway on a vehicle this age if they haven't already been done.
