Default High RPM's then it shifts

Hello all,
I am totally new to Chevys & just got a 03 blazer. Seems the rpm's need to be pretty high for the auto transmission to take off. Not knowing Chevy's, is this common? Truck runs fine in all gears, no smoke or hesitation. Except when taking off. Any help?

Thanks
Walter

samething with mine i changed my A and B transmission solenoids and rebuild the valve body. what i mean by rebuild i just took out all the parts cleaned them and but it all back together and that will slove your problem. if you are going to remove your valve body MAKE SURE YOU LOOK FOR THE CHECKBALLS i also added a checkball part for you.. hope it helps cuz it did for me oh plus if your going to do this job then you should do a filter and fluid change.

Not sure which trans you have but that problem can be caused by TV cable out of adjustment. Try that first.

Throttle valve cable. Connects to the throttle linkage on the carb/tbi if you have a 700r4 trans (4 speed OD). If its out of adjustment it will cause the problem you're describing.

Just a thought.... what transmission do you have..... very inportant..... if it is a 700r4 it sounds like a governor..... and a 4l60e could be the 1-2 solenoid will help need more info
