Default Interior/exterior lights dimming

I have a 96 s10 2wd. I noticed the other day that my lights are flickering, well, getting dim, as I am driving. It isn't in any sort of pattern either, and nothing else seems to be messing up gauges, etc. Where in the world can i even start to try and figure this problem out? I have power to all my interior fuses, but from there I am lost.

thanks
JJ

Check to volt meter on the dash. What is it reading when running? I'm suspecting your battery is near the end of its life, your alternator is going bad slowly or else you have a huge electricalload dragging it down, whether it be an aftermarket electronic upgrade that uses a lot of poweror possibly a short somewhere.
