Default Passlock

Not sure if I have a problem with the passlock on my 1999 Blazer, I am in the UK. I can only switch off the security light by using the remote unlocker. If I use the key the light won't go off and the car won't start. Is this normal?

Sounds like you have an aftermarket security system with a starter kill feature. Is the fob aftermarket or factory?

It has a factory fob, when I unlock the car using that the security light goes out and the vehicle starts normaly, if I unlock with the key the security light stays on and the car only runs for a couple of seconds. Trouble is there is no dealer support over here.
