My S10 has the 4L60E trans. On cold starts it initially hits 1 2 3 shifts no 4, if I come to a stop. It don't down shift. I can manualy pull it down. When the operating temp. comes up, If I pull off the road aand shut down and wait a few minutes, (reset the computer) It shifts like advertised with a check eng. light. I can stop go and all gears are there. If I park it for 5 to 15 minutes it shifts fine and check eng. light goes out. I scanned it and faulty 2-3 shift solinoid is all that sets. I have replaced it, and the oil and filter. There wasn't any debris in the pan and the oil I removed looked new. All the wirering looks fine. I'm thinking computer. Any help ???

You said you scanned it. What was the P-something diagnostic trouble code (DTC)?

 

I don't remember the No.'s that came up on the scanner. It's been a while. I'm sorry I don't understand the lettering thing, I can't do text messaging either.
