To bad the glove box designer and the owners manual people did not talk to each other.
The manual will not fit in glove box once you put the ownership papers in the box without some special jockeying of the manual. The 14 Impala is a great car but little things like heated/cooled cup holders and the proper size glove box would make it a tremendous car.

2014 LTZ rear camera problem
Hi, I have a 2014 LTZ and after a heavy rain storm the rear back up camera has several black spots that will not go away. It is very hard to use the camera to see, is there a way to clean the camera without taking it in the dealer? Thanks

I just got myself a 2016 Malibu 2LZ Premier with every option on 2/29/16. I LOVE it more than my Verano which I didn't think would be possible. I was all set to get another Verano even though it looks EXACTLY like my 2013 because I never had one problem with the Verano. Then, I saw the Malibu Premier in Red Tintcoat of course, and I changed my mind! A few suggestions have come to mind as I drive the Malibu and compare it to some of my past GM cars- 08 Malibu LTZ, 11 Cruze LTZ RS, and 13 Verano Premium Turbo. Sometimes I wonder WHAT they are thinking about in Corporate besides $$$$$$. I'm sure more things will come to mind as I drive it, but for now these few things just irk me because I'm sure it's ALL about $$$$.
My 2013 Verano was $32,000+ and came with a nice black cloth pouch for the owner's manual and related booklets. In the trunk, there was a nice plastic pull down handle for closing the trunk. There was also hooks on either side of the trunk for the cargo net that I have used with three previous GM cars.
Now we move to 2016 and the Malibu Premier for $36,010. Owner's manual and assorted booklets in a ZIP LOCK BAG! I expected that with my 2004 Chevy Aveo LS that I still have, but NOT a $36,000 car! Move to the trunk- NO pull down handle. There is a LITTLE hole near the trunk latch that I use to close the trunk so as not to get fingerprints near the license plate. SOMEONE at GM must have thought that the previous LARGE cargo nets were too BIG, so they put NO hooks in the trunk, but did put two rings attached to the bumper end of the trunk. They are slightly raised from the floor of the trunk, so the previous cargo net is USELESS. I inquired about a cargo net at the dealer, but they said they didn't have anything yet for the 2016 Malibu.
Then, a friend of mine came by to show me his 2013 Cadillac XTS. When he opened his trunk, my cargo net problem was "solved". The new net that I DO see on the Chevy website looks to be the same as the Cadillac. The "new and improved" net is probably just as long as my net, BUT it is only about 3 inches in depth! Now sure what you can put in there except maybe a towel or a chamois. Certainly it is useless for groceries. It does hook on to those metal loops in the trunk.
I solved my cargo net problem by using two plant clips, hooking them to the ends of my big cargo net and then clipping them to the trunk rods on either side of the trunk! Perfect! Problem solved. I also found a website that sells black, cloth pouches for the owner's manual for $14.99. Perfect fit. It came the other day.
Can it be that ONE person makes decisions as to what to take out of cars and what to put in? I cannot believe that a "group" of people approved the new size cargo net, no pull down handle in the trunk and a ZIP LOCK BAG for the owner's manual. I just shake my head in disbelief.
I know GM has to save money for all those ignition switch lawsuits, but do WE have to bear the brunt of these cutbacks? Let those who knew about the problem and kept quiet bear the brunt with a reduction in their salaries!
I'm not sure if you actually work for GM or are outsourced from IBM or some other non-GM company that GM has used in the past, but if you are in corporate headquarters, could you please cut and paste my observations and forward them to the appropriate department(s) for future consideration and to let them know that there are some of us who love cars and do take note of these "little" nitpicking things.
Thank you.
