2011 Yukon Dash Board just cracked
Three weeks ago, I purchased a pristine used 2011 Yukon XL Denali for Mrs. Cusser; this vehicle came from the mid-west, always garaged, babied. She took the horse/trailer on a dirt road yesterday and the dashboard cracked on both sides.

Apparently this is a common issue on GM vehicles 2007-2014 (Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, Avalanche, etc.), and there was a class-action lawsuit, and GM won. https://www.carparts.com/blog/the-la...ed-dash-issue/ This link offers suggestions how to fix, etc. There are aftermarket overlays which can be glued on, simple dashboard covers, plastic welding/painting (might be ABS plastic).
So GM is in a position to profit from its own mistake: poor materials and design flaw. So sad.

That panel is starting to vibrate on my '11 at highway speeds. Never did that until lately. Looks like I'm next. 124k miles and garaged for a few years after I bought it used in '14. Mines outside for the last 3 yrs. as the newest vehicle gets the remaining garage spot.
This is similar to the well-known windshield wiper recall/issue on GM trucks and SUVs in the 1990s where the "deal" with the government was to cover certain VINs. So our 1994 Suburban had this issue but its VIN was not on the list; so like with the dashboard thing: GM wants to make money on repairs that were their fault.
Issue with the wiper circuit board was a bad solder joint, and I resoldered that to fix (learned that issue on Internet).

I've used one of those in a '09 Malibu. It had a grey dash that had a wicked refection on the windshield so a black mat fixed that problem. It faded a little over the 100k miles I had the car but even the Velcro sticky held up in that time.
