Default 04 express 1500 front of rear leaf spring mount - rusting away

I have been working on getting this low mileage 2004 AWD 1500 into a travel van
I have a problem with serious rust derioration on the leaf spring mount

Like I don't think I can drive the van like this

I'd appreciate any advice or experience anyone has had with a similar issue

This forum has been very helpful to me. I have usually been able to find my answers in previous threads - just not in this case

Thank you

I purchased an AWD express van and converted it to 4x4 and I camp out of all the time. When I purchased it I searched high and low for a rust free one.

looks like you have a serious problem. You may need to cut it out and make a new mount. The problem would be is there enough frame to weld to. most shops won’t touch it due to the liability involved with the repair….good luck. I hope you find a solution…post up if you get it fixed..

I'm in Boston.
This place looked perfect, but they closed last year

I think I have someone to look at it Monday.
I would really like to save this thing.

Any help or advice appreciated though.
