Default 1998-99 stuttering/hesitation with A/C on

Okay, I've got a odd problem with my old boy. Whenever I have the A/C running and I come to a stop at say a red light and I give it some gas it's almost like it drags the motor down and stutters compared to how it normally drives with the A/C off. When it's running with the air off it acts just like it should, normal acceleration and all that good stuff. I've been to several mechanics and it seems like everyone is stumped by it, any ideas on what it might be? Thanks in advance!

As far as I'm aware they rebuilt the whole engine from the ground up and put all new parts except for couple of things like the radiator and water pump which I've replaced both of those a year or two ago. As for the charge I'm not sure what it has actually, none of the idiot mechanics checked it like I asked them to. I would check it myself but I don't have all the equipment I need to see what its at.

What you describe is a high load on the compressor, I'd have that checked. You can realize an rpm change when the ac is turned on, but never enough to bog the rpm down to what you describe.
