Default 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LS (4x4) Extended Cab

I'm curious about anyone's experience with this truck. I currently own a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT (4x4) Crew Cab with the 5.9 Cummins engine. I do like the pulling power, but I don't use it often enough to (in my opinion) justify the maintenance cost of a diesel. I have located a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LS that's an extended cab, dually, 4x4, and has the 8.1 liter Vortec and has the Allison transmission. The best part is it only has 58,000 original miles. I know that is very low mileage, considering it's age. I know these trucks aren't known for getting great fuel mileage, but are there any other problems or maintenance costs that I should worry about in comparison to my current Ram that has the Cummins? Oh, and my current truck unfortunately has the 48re automatic transmission in comparison to the Silverado having the Allison. It hasn't given me any trouble (yet) and it has a little over 140,000 miles on it. According to the MPG gauge in my Ram, it drops down to about 10mpg when pulling our 32' camper during my son's racing season. I owned a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 before I bought the Ram and it was a fantastic truck, I just needed something stronger so I wouldn't work it to death with pulling that camper. I wasn't looking for a diesel when I bought the Ram, I kinda just stumbled across a deal on it. I do have a smaller vehicle I use as a daily driver that's pretty good on gas. Just throwing that out there.

Truck I'm interested in buying. 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LS (4x4) with 8.1 Vortec and Allison transmission.
