battery disconnect
I am having a myers plow put on my 2005 Silverado 4wd, when the installers disconnected the battery to hook up the necessary cables for the plow now the truck starts but dies within seconds. I guess something triped the anti theft program. How can I reset the 'passlock'?

Simply disconnecting the battery shouldn't cause the Passlock synchronization to be lost. Check the fuses (anything with either BATT or IGN in the label)? Also, is the security indicator on solid or flashing with the key on?

THere is a continuity issue with the vehicles computer when you disconnect a battery. Usually it doesn't cause a problem but it can at times. When I had a problem I took it to a dealer and I believe he did some kind of reprogramming thing to it.
Another issue with disconnecting the battery is the computer loses the engine history of all the little checks the computer does to adjust the engine. So it has to start over and run through a routine check. This can take 50 to 200 miles on various vehicles.
