I have a 2009 Silverado LT1 2WD. I did not get the Z71 off road suspension, but would like to know is there is a way to get it installed? If it can be done is it expensive? Is it even recommended?

You are better off trading it in. 4wd conversions are expensive

not on a 2009 or in my opinion any truck it would be cheaper to trade it in. this conversion is a lot of work that even if you could do it yourself would be expensive!! its a brand new truck trade it in!!!

I've done 4wd conversions on older Toyota trucks and its not easy. on something that new, I'd have to go with the other two, trade it in and get what you want.

Thanks for the replies, but i guess i should of explained better. I have seen 2wd Chevy’s that have the Z71 package. From what i understand the Z71 has an off-road suspension. Can that type of suspension be put on my truck, I do not want to convert to a 4wd?

Yes there are Z71 2wds. The only difference that I know of is a skid guard under the engine and tougher shocks and springs. It should be fairly easily. The skid guard is a bolt-on.

Are you going to put the Z71 Decals on it too?

I think a true z71 should be 4wd. But yes it should be easy just shocks springs and skid plate but why? Are you gonna offroad?

The bigger springs and shocks would definately make it handle a trailer better.
