lol. i'd never drive an import. irrelevant but my sister has a nissan altima hybrid that i refuse to drive even if she offers me. cant even hear the damn engine running. lol. will a tune still let me keep the power i have?

gotstylez March 10th, 2010 11:38 PM

if u can get a blackbear tune it should.. also i have read acouple posts about a bed cover like a tonnue cover or however u spell it give u 1-2 mpg extra..a fresh set of plugs n wires..and the best 1 i found out is when you stop and go.....when you go.. dont step on the gas lol it saves u alot..

Dude... Blackbear, and a CAI. I've gained 1mpg, and I've been doggin my truck. I fully expect to hit 15mpg soon, that'll be up from 12. I just need to get my CAI full installed. Volant sent me the wrong damn one.

Do you have elec. fans? I don't remember when these started to come standard. And when you put some new wires I would opt to put some 8+mm wires (stock they are only 7mm).

nauticstar87 March 11th, 2010 12:18 AM

They ain't standard yet. I can tell you that.

cam3439 March 11th, 2010 12:41 AM

Ok. Then DO the elec. fans. They'll help the mpg's and be safer for the truck if you get stuck in traffic when it's hot. I remember I was stuck on a bridge when it was like 105 outside (but on the bridge it got to 116 with everyone's exhaust heat) and my Tahoe's temp got up to 225-230. So, I decided to put some elec. fans to prevent something like this from ever happening again. And my clutched fan was working fine, but it still let my truck heat up.
