im sure this has been discussed on here. but im looking to get better gas mileage from my truck. i sea foam it every oil change or every other oil change. already have exhaust. i could change out my plugs. i have autolite iridiums probably change to delco or ngk iridiums. i asked about cai's but everyone seemed to be against them. what else could i do? 04 1500 5.3 4wd

lol. i'd never drive an import. irrelevant but my sister has a nissan altima hybrid that i refuse to drive even if she offers me. cant even hear the damn engine running. lol. will a tune still let me keep the power i have?

if u can get a blackbear tune it should.. also i have read acouple posts about a bed cover like a tonnue cover or however u spell it give u 1-2 mpg extra..a fresh set of plugs n wires..and the best 1 i found out is when you stop and go.....when you go.. dont step on the gas lol it saves u alot..

Dude... Blackbear, and a CAI. I've gained 1mpg, and I've been doggin my truck. I fully expect to hit 15mpg soon, that'll be up from 12. I just need to get my CAI full installed. Volant sent me the wrong damn one.

Do you have elec. fans? I don't remember when these started to come standard. And when you put some new wires I would opt to put some 8+mm wires (stock they are only 7mm).

Ok. Then DO the elec. fans. They'll help the mpg's and be safer for the truck if you get stuck in traffic when it's hot. I remember I was stuck on a bridge when it was like 105 outside (but on the bridge it got to 116 with everyone's exhaust heat) and my Tahoe's temp got up to 225-230. So, I decided to put some elec. fans to prevent something like this from ever happening again. And my clutched fan was working fine, but it still let my truck heat up.
