Lightbulb ignition wiring

Hi,
new member here.
My ignition barrel is playing up and, sometimes, prevents me from turning the key.

I'm exploring fitting a start/stop button. I require the ignition wiring to aid setup if available please.

Chevy Spark 2013, UK.

Welcome from Florida. Why not replace the bad ignition barrel? Maybe a good locksmith can repair your old one. A universal ignition switch with a key is also an option.

Hello, and thanks for your reponse.

There are no more Chevrolet dealers in the UK. My thinking was that a button start would be cheaper than a repaired or replaced ignition barrel.

I don't mind spending a little bit of time learning things, so would enjoy the experience.

You can check dealers in the US since there is international shipping. A button would still require a switch to ensure safety. To put in a button like the newer cars have would require adding a computer not just a button.

International shipping, now that’s worth investigating.

Yes, I’m aware of the need for a small computer to manage push button start & stop, despite many sellers listing start/stop buttons online and claiming that’s all one requires!

I've tried searching online, have found the parts, but all delivery options are for the US!

There must be a way. Did you try contacting 3rd party carriers? Fed Ex, DHL and others do international deliveries.

Perhaps this would be a solution, but it’s getting the item from the source to the courier.

They can pick it up from the source.

Thank you once again, but I think the cost prohibits. I think I’d like to investigate the option of push start/stop.
