I have an '07 5.3 Crewcab LT1. When you use the fade function and fade from front to rear, the rear speakers seem muffled when compared to front. Also, have to keep more of the sound adjusted to the rear in order for the system to sound balanced. Is this normal or do I need to check connections?

Its probably normal, because usually the rear speakers are hidden behind the plastic side panel and usually smaller than the ones in front.

You have to fade to the back because you are sitting in the front seat, and are closer to the front speakers, so they are louder.
As for the muffled rear speakers, try sitting in the back seat and listen to the rear speakers. you may have a blown speaker.
