anyway i was looking at the gm accessories website and saw the "upgraded" DIC that is $100 to put in your silverado. it is under the 2008 tab but would it work on a 2007 silverado nbs regular cab wt? thanks.

i would suggest calling the parts guy at your local chevy dealer, i have used mine now for a couple of things and his files are much more accurate than the internet for compatibility issues.

So all you would need is this pannel with the extra buttons to be able to view the extra information? Because on my '07 without the DIC buttons, you can only look at Oil life, trip, total miles, ect. Will the dealer have to program the ability for it to display the additional info like fuel economy? Im interested in getting this if it does.

The DIC accessory is all you need, the plug is already there all you do is plug it in, no programming needed just swap the headlight switch over to the new panel.
So easy a caveman can do it and this part works with both 2007 New Body Style and and 2008 trucks.

I ordered mine and It should be coming in later today. Hopefully it comes with some sort of instruction diagram to show how to remove the pannel so I can do it myself. If not, I'll just take it to the dealer for them to do it so I dont damage anything. Then I'll ask them about adding remote start. . .

From what I undersand, All the newer (not sure how new) gm vehicles are prewired for remote start but the computer will have to be reprogramed/updated to enable it ifyour truckdid not come off the lot with remote start.
