07 Silverado transmission not shifting out of 2nd
I have an 07 Silverado with 60k. Driving home from work today truck would not shift out of 2nd. When it would try to shift it would loose all power and motor would rev anywhere from 1500-4000 rpms without even touching the gas. I do not have any warning lights or messages. I got the truck home by putting it in 2nd and leaving it there. Other than not shifting out of 2nd it runs normal. Never had any problems in the past, no slipping or signs of anything of concern. Any advice would be helpful as to somewhat narrow down the cause. Have read some stuff about transmission may be in limp mode or selonoid may be out, or even fuses need to be checked. Hate to spend a lot of money if it could possibly be something simple to correct.

Gonna have to get a scanner on this guy to see what's going on. That "lugging down" part sure doesn't sound good. Kinda sounds like a welded or broken reverse input drum or piston.
Does the truck try to move in neutral?

when it will not shift into drive it does feel like it is in neutral. you can rev the motor with no response at all. around 20mph if I just put truck in drive and take off from a stop with normal accel. like I said in earlier post this dude is going haywire will rev with nothing touching the pedal.
