1991 gmc fuel pump problems

1991 gmc fuel pump problems
my truck was running a little rough and died sometimes going slow but now it wont start. the shop said it was the fuel pump but when i took it out hooked it to the battery it was good, i change the fuel relay in it and nothin. the wire going to the pump said it was getting power to. what could this be? ive been workin on it for a couple days now and cant keep asking around for rides.
