1997 Silverado Power Steering Pump Removal
I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado with a power steering leak. It appears to be a gasket leak as the high pressure hose is fine. I have removed the V-Belt and the PS Pulley. My problem is that I am unable to remove the pump. According to the Haynes Manual I have removed all of the necessary bolts (there are three of them). I have also removed the bolts from the A/C pump, but the PS Pump just won't budge. Am I missing something? PLEASE HELP!!!

on the pump there's a bolt that sticks out, me and my friend had a hell of a time with that one. you need a "puller" that will get it off..we got lucky and one of my other buddies had one in his shop

Stuck Power Steering Pump
Thanks, but I got that part off. My problem is that even AFTER I remove the pulley bolt and the 3 bolts behind the pully wheel, the pump still won't come off. Thanks for responding!

it should come off relatively easy after that....although we had to hit it with a hammer to knock it loose lol check for other bolts on the backside that may still be holdin it on...im not sure if there was one or not
