Hey chevy friends, single mom here lookin for any info for my sons pickup truck. Service engine light came on, checked the code and its p1870, looked it up and talks about transmission control or something. Can anyone let me know if its ok to drive til we can get it looked at or what fix we need 2 do. Really would appreciate any help.

 

Alldata says pcm sees to much slip from transmission
check fluids, flush fluids or change torque converter
I would be careful with that code you could mess up transmission

 

sound like torque converter gone bad. The sensor is telling you that when the lockup clutch in the converter is supposed to have engaged, its still allowing slippage. meaning its worn out and needs replacement.
