Default 2001 6.0 Rebuild Tips

I bought a 2001 6.0 to transplant in my 2000 2500 4x4 with a iron head 6.0
Anyone have any must do tips?
I bought this out of a wrecked truck, was told it had 113000 on it. After tear down I found a piece of oil ring in the pan then # 7 piston had no scraper rings on top or bottom of the oil ring.
Piston was damaged but no damage to the cylinder wall and no ridge at all. From what I seen on tear down I would have to say this motor was original and never tore down before. A new set of pistons and .010 bore is a givin.
Should I stay with a stock cam or can I get a little more hp/torque for towing that will work with the factory computer settings?
Does anyone make a set of headers to match up to the factory exhaust pipes?

If you add headers you will want too add a aftermarket exhaust, someone should make headers for your set up. I would stick with a factory cam.

my 2 cents
