Ok so I have been looking at a lot of 03-06 2500HD ext cab 4x4 trucks with between 50k - 125k. I have seen 12-15 trucks and I have noticed that they all seem to be sitting on the bump stops in the front suspension. Is this normal for the torsion bar suspension or should they be higher

IMO they should have the keys adjusted to leave 1/2" of clearence before they hit the bottom travel bump stops. I don't know if they come from the factory adjusted that way or if it's been done afterwards to get a little lift out of it.

A buddy of mine has one, his sits on the bump stops also. I could not find anything wrong with it so I assume it should be that way. I can not be sure if the others I have worked on were like that or not, I guess I never really looked.

I too have the same question about the bump stops on my 2500HD. Just seem like there is no give when the stop is on the frame and no where for the shocks to travel up and down to absorb road bumps. is there any chevy spec out there saying how much space there should be??
