Hi All,
I have 2004 Silverado Ext Cab 4x4 with 5.3 "T" engine 47k miles.
Truck runs great, but several times now after a heavy rain storm the engine refuses to start.
It cranks fine, no gas smell. If I let it sit overnite it fires right off next morning.
One backyard mechanic says it may be the factory theft system shutting off fuel?
Also has an aftermarket autostart system.
I have also noticed lately that the Theft Deterant light on the dash sometimes stays on when I'm driving but goes out after restart. My key does not have a chip, so i'm guessing it does not have the passive system?
Any idea before I start replacing plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel filter amd fuel pump?
Thanks in advance for any help.
