So when I put my truck into reverse you hear like a clonking noise or a clicking noise. My dad is a mechanic and he said something is loose or my rear end is messing up. Any help with it? I was driving it the other night. You can hear it real bad whenever its in 4 wheel drive and when you press the gas. But other then that you only hear it in reverse. The other night when I put it in reverse its like it didnt click into gear and went into reverse studdered, kicked outta gear then back into it. Any ideas?

I have a 2004 Silverado and have never heard that kind of noise; but my truck is not a 4x4. Could it be a universal joint in the drive shaft? I have no idea.

Rest assured, though. Somebody here will have a valid answer.
