Default 2004 Silverado 4WD

Im trying to find out if anyone has had this same problem and how they remedied it. When i crank my truck up the 4WD will either be in the red neutral position or Auto. I have the push button 4WD. Can someone please help?

You mean even if you push 2wd the dash says your in 4wd? or Is the truck actually using 4wd?
