Default 2005 HD 4x4 Crew TIRES

Just bought a 2005 HD Durmax Diesel Crew Cab. I want to get rid of the stock tires and move to the biggest all terrain tire possible WITHOUT voiding my warranty or changing the rims. It currently has 245 r75 16's.

A Chevy service manager said I could move to a 265 r75 16, but he didn't seem very confident.

Any help out there?

Had another service manager tell me I can increase tire size without affecting warranty. One said I could move up to a 285 r75 16 using stock wheels. How come I don't believe them?!

OK... Just talking to myself here, but, I replaced my 245 R16's with BF Goodrich AT 265 R16's, and successfully filled in the wheel well and gave myself a lot more confidence that I won't get stuck in the first puddle I drive through. The truck seems to handle bumps better and thetires are just as quiet as the stock tires. If I had gone to a 285 R16, The front wheel wells would have had to be modified to accomodate the larger tire size.( ie. Trimming back the front side of the fender flare to prevent rubbing as youturn.)

My truck looks and feels more rugged. The AT tread will, by definition, give me the off road capability I need on occassions.

The minute my warranty expires, I am modifying my exhaust and doing a minimum 4 inch lift kit.....any suggestions here would be appreciated.

Best A/T tire out there is the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo by far.

Default 2005 HD 4x4 Crew TIRES

I have had a silverado for the last 3 1/2years and found that the Bridgestone Dueler APT's are the best in my opinon. I put 80,000 miles that I know of on a set and they were on the truck when I bought it used. They are more rugged and seem to handle road debris better. I had to have a stock tire replaced 2 weeks after I bought my 05. Hmmm... 3 1/2 years one set of tires on my old truck and 2 weeks with stock tires on my new one. I can't stand the stock tires on my 05. Since I am posting... I would like to put some nice wheels on my Black 05 LT3 Z71. Don't want to Pimp it out just want to have it compliment my Harley (black and chrome) can anyone suggest a site that has decent wheels for a truck?

Also I have seen 285's on stock hieght 2500s no rubbimg as far as i know. But if your still worried you can get a torsion bar leveling kit and fit 35's no prob.

I threw 285's on my HD and it did rub so all I did was trim about 2 inches back from the front wheel well. they look great though. I've got Interco Trxus M/T's and they are nasty. Quite a bit louder than my old A/T's I had on it but great in the mud when I went out this past weekend.

Had 285 75/16's on my 01 2500HD Crew since I've owned it, which was at 60,000 mi, now I have 195,000 mi, original owner had them on and I continued, crank up the torsion bars to level out the truck, and it will be fine, very slight rub when backing up with wheels cranked to the left, other than that no problems, and looks, rides and handles much better than stock, which my friend has identical truck but stock.
