Default 2007 Chevy Silverado Ck Engine Light

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab 4X4 Classic Limited Edition and the Check Engine Light came on this weekend when i was pulling my camper up a hill. It sent code 172 and 175 (code 172 showed up back in February as well.)

Has anyone else experienced these codes?

What have you done?

And if so, are they anything to worry about if the truck is running fine??

I believe those are both rich running condition codes(bank 1/bank 2).
Not really unusual if you were trying to tow a heavy load uphill. Heavy throttle but no sped.

O2 sensors may be the culprits, simply reading a rich condition without it actually being true. If they were never replaced, it may be time....If it really is a rich condition, that can lead to the cats overheating.....

I would go with AC Delco sensors if you can confirm they are sluggish. 2 pre-cat and 2 post cat

Have you looked at your spark plugs? Those codes are fuel trim rich on both banks. The plugs will, besides performance, tell you something. These should be pristen white on the electrode. This could be either a fuel schedule i.e. towing, or injector issue. The latter is tough, as you are having a rich fuel on both banks.

The check engine light ended up going off; but now it is coming on periodically and will stay on for a trip or two and then go off when i am driving down the road. It has done this 4 or 5 times over the last week or so. Sensor Issue?? How difficult is it to change out the sensor??
Spark Plugs?? How difficult is it to change out the spark plugs on this engine??
