Default 2007 NAV won't play DVD

Newbie here:

Just picked up a new to me 2007 Silverado LTZ with Nav unit. I have no RSV. In reading the
owners manual, it infers that you can play a DVD when in park. Yet if I install a DVD, I get a disk read error. I thought I heard somewhere that all 2007 LTZ with Bose were DVD capable but may not be activated. Can someone with a little more knowledge shed some light on this subject for me..

Thanks

The DVD its refering to is the map disc DVD-ROM - you need to get a special unit from PAC to get DVDs to run off your nav unit
