Default 2011 1500 Belt Replacement

Has anybody replaced the air conditioning belt on a 2011 silverado with a 5.3 liter in it? I have a Haynes repair manual for 2007-2010 and in it shows that there is a tensioner pulley for the air conditioner belt. Well apparently they did away with that in 2011 because i cannot see nor feel any tensioner pulley on my A/C belt. Any help would be appreciated! thanks!

it uses a new type of belt called a stretch belt that does not require a tensioner.

buy a new belt from the dealer and it comes with an installation tool and instructions how to use it. old belts are cut off and discarded. you can buy removal and installation tools from napa or other tool suppliers if you want to reuse the old belt.

I agree with tech2. Each belt from the dealership comes with a tool to install the belt. Just cut off the old and use the tool to install the new.
