My father in law is looking to get a new truck. He has a couple of options. He was wanting a Colorado, but once he found out the price, he figured he could get a full size truck for around the same price. Anyway, this is what his dealership is offering:
1) Colorado 2015 V6 4wd extended cab trim WT:
269-305 HP engine; payload 1600 lbs; PL;PW;AC; rear vision camera; AM/FM; driver power seat; 6' bed
MSRP $28770; if I will go to 2WD it would be $4460 less; if I will go to 4V engine 191-200HP it would even less on 3-4 thousands; they will give it at $500 over invoice because they do not know yet what would be their cost, but not more then $27500 with condition they would not lose money, so it can be more if their cost would be more but they think that 27500 good target point
2) Silverado1500 2014 V6 4WD double(extended cab)
Trim W1; double cab (the same as extended cab) 4WD; PL; PW: CC, radio 17/22 MPG; V6 285HP@5300rpm; 1971lb payload; 6'6" bed: 19'2" overall length
$35070 MSRP ; but if I trade in they will apply loyalty bonus because I trade in GM truck. Price would be $29952 it is $5250 bonus. My trade in
for Sonoma will be $2500 and it is high - it is retail price for my truck, not wholesale price that the would pay normally $1500-2000 so I will get it for $27,452. Silverado is 19'2" so it will be tax my garage to the limit. What do you think?
Does the Silverado seem like a pretty good deal. They said they will hold it until Monday for him. He is ready to buy now.
Thanks everyone for your input.

I have been wondering the same question for the last month too. I contacted my salesman last month about looking to possibly trade in my 2011 Silverado for a newer model that would lower my payments and produce better mpg. He told me I should wait for the Colorado to come in as I might like it. It is not yet on their lot so I unfortunately can't help you but hopefully someone else has info for both us to sway us either way.

Look around. There's colorado's out there with the 5.3 v8 in them as well. There's a used one around here with 30k miles on it for 20k. Fully loaded z71 4x4 leather sunroof and 5.3 v8
