Hello, Just curious what the procedure is to check the block heater cord on a NBS silverado, My buddy was telling me that it somehow runs throught the computer and is inactive untill it reaches -18 degres C. I check it for continuity this morning and there was nothing, and judging by the way the truck started this AM I know it wasnt working ( it was -32 degrees c ) last night any help would be appreciated

If there is no continuity then either the element has burned out or there is an open switch somewhere.
I think there is a thermostat in the cord going to the heater.
Not connected into the computer.
Follow the cord back to the heater and see.
You could cut the cord to remove the thermostat then wire it back together.
